Marquand Library of Art and Archaeology

Carrels/Shelves

Marquand Library is a non-circulating library. However, there are a limited number of study carrels available to senior majors, graduate students, and faculty, and "visiting scholar" shelves available to visiting scholars and others from outside of Art & Archaeology who have a need to use Marquand on a regular basis. Materials may be charged to a carrel or shelf until the end of the academic year.

Marquand Library's 109 study carrels begin on the 3rd Floor, and are numbered consecutively down to B Floor. There are no carrels on the 1st Floor. See the library's floor plans for locations. Visiting scholar shelves are on the 2nd Floor, but there are additional shelves located in the Architecture Reading Room on A Floor.

Undergraduates outside of the Department and others not eligible for carrels or shelves may reserve books to Reading Room shelves available to patrons who wish to keep books for up to two weeks (renewable).

Please consult the carrel and shelf policy document here.
